William Richard Wineman, 69, passed away on August 18, 2014, at his home, surrounded by his family.
He was born in Detroit, MI on July 12, 1945, the son of Leonard and Catharine Wineman. Bill was the beloved husband of the late Karen Verhey Wineman and the dear father of Carole (Mark) Johnson.
Following law school, Bill spent most of his legal career in the title insurance industry providing counsel on local and national commercial transactions. Beginning in 1997, Bill became Vice President – Major Transactions Counsel with Fidelity National Title Insurance Company, where he continued to work until his passing. Bill enjoyed counseling clients located throughout the country from nearly every industry, and especially appreciated his dear colleagues with whom he worked for so many years. His quiet sense of humor was especially appreciated in the office.
Reflecting his deep Christian faith and joy in following Christ, Bill's compassion, generosity and gratitude were appreciated and enjoyed by all who knew him. Especially important to Bill was his church, Oak Pointe, including his Bible study and volunteer work.
Bill was an avid golfer. He enjoyed playing locally with friends, and always looked forward to the annual golf tournament in Florida with family.
Bill was also the brother of Donald (Peggy) Wineman and the brother-in law of Gayle & Jim Stifler, Linda and Jeff Uloth and Norma and Paul McCrary. Bill felt blessed with such a close family, and especially appreciated the time he was able to spend with his daughter, son-in-law, and so many other wonderful family members during the past year.
