William H. Miller

William H. Miller, 88 of Novi, died Sunday at Providence Park Hospital, Novi.
He will lie instate at 9 a.m. Wednesay at Lola Park Ev. Lutheran Church with a service celebrating his life at 11 a.m. Burial will follow at Glen Eden Memorial Park in Livonia.
Bill was born March 4, 1924 in Flint, Michigan. He was the son of George and Dora (Scheupferling) Miller. He married Phyllis B. Howison June 7, 1952 at Mt. Olive Lutheran Church in Detroit; she preceded him in death on January 10, 2003.
He was a 1942 graduate of Flint Central High School and a 1947 graduate of the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor with a degree in Mechanical Engineering.
He served in the U.S. Navy from December 12, 1942 to May 2, 1946 and was an Motor Machinist's Mate Third Class.
He worked at Ford for 29 1/2 years. He started December 14, 1950 as an Engineer and retired May 1, 1980 as a Manager. After leaving Ford he worked for DeLorean in England for 6 months, and later worked on the first generation Hummer and other small jobs for a few more years.
William was member of the Lola Park Evangelist Lutheran Church. He also had a love of travel, visiting 5 different continents. He most recently visited Belgium and Holland in 2011 with his grandson Eric. He also enjoyed playing golf and tennis.
He is survived by his three sons, Craig A. (Carol) Miller, Brian W. (Karol) Miller, Scott G. (Amy) Miller, and seven grandchildren, Eric, Jennifer, Melissa, Christopher, Michele, Kimberly and Ashley.
