Obituary

Lieutenant-Colonel William (Bill) Everett Johns, 81, died in Mansfield, TX on June 7, 2021.
Bill was born on April 12, 1940 in Highland Park, MI to the late Everett and Louise Johns. While attending Alma College in Alma, MI for his degree in Chemistry, he met Madeline Johnson. They married on November 10, 1962.
Bill joined the United State Air Force on August 7, 1962 in Detroit, MI. As a military family, Bill, Madeline and the children enjoyed their adventure in many states until his retirement on August 31, 1982 in Albuquerque, NM. After retirement, Bill enjoyed another career as a teacher for the Central New Mexico Community College. He retired from CNM on September 1, 2006. Bill loved the outdoors and tinkering in the garage.
He is survived by his sons, David (Kelly) Johns and Dale Johns; his daughter Lesley (Byron) Abshier; his seven grandchildren; and his seven great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his wife, Madeline; his sister Carol Murray; his brother Jerry Johns.

Funeral service 12 pm Tuesday, June 15, 2021 at the O'Brien/Sullivan Funeral Home 41555 Grand River Ave Novi, MI 48375 with visitation from 11 am until time of service. Interment Oakland Hills Memorial Gardens with military services at 1 pm.
