William R. Flynn, beloved husband of Moira, father of Chris (Lisa), Kevin (Veronica), Colin (Melissa) and the late Suzanne, grandfather of eight, brother of Kathleen (William) Brett, retired banker and inveterate cynic, died peacefully at home on December 3, 2006 at age 73. Mr. Flynn, a lifelong member of St. Mary's of Redford parish, was a graduate of U of D Jesuit High School and Fordham University, and received his master's degree from the University of Detroit. He was the head of the International Department at NBD, relished international travel, and was fluent in both Spanish and French. In his retirement, he devoted himself to numerous charitable causes and "occasional" golf. His family will sorely miss both his sardonic wit and his comically poor efforts to mask the deep love, affection and dedication he unfailingly showed to his family, his friends and his parish.
