Virginia Irene "Ginny" Blaty passed away peacefully at home on July 14, 2012.
Beloved wife of the late Edward Blaty for 63 years until his passing in March of 2012.
Virginia is survived by her children, Ann Marie Mann (Richard Vail), Theresa Lynn Blaty (David Diebold), Mary Beth Lewison (Kyle) , Edward C. Blaty; her grandchildren, Jonathan T. Mann, Matthew E. Mann (Kristin) , Cole W. Lewison, Brian C. Lewison, Andrew J. Diebold and great-granddaughter Sienna Marie Mann.
Also survived by her brother William T. Crick (Norma), sister Rita Gallagher, sisters-in-law Delores Ajlouny and Lorraine Blaty as well as many nieces and nephews and their families.
In addition to her husband and parents, Virginia was preceded in death by her in laws, Mary and Charles Blaty, niece Dana Marra, nephew Anthony Ajlouny, sister-in-law Jeanette Seaback and brothers-in-law Donald Blaty, Monroe Seaback and K. Anthony Ajlouny.
Virginia was born in Ontario, Canada on March 18, 1926 to Ernest G. and Ann Marie Crick. She was raised in Detroit and attended St. Agnes School. On June 26, 1948 she married Edward and proudly and selflessly supported him through law school and a successful career at Lawyer's Title Insurance Corporation while raising their four children. Over the years Ed and Ginny were blessed with many dear friends. Above all she was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She created and leaves behind many treasured memories. She was an especially proud "Granny" to her five grandsons who she loved so very much. She will be forever missed and always in our hearts.
Visitation at the O'Brien/Sullivan Funeral Home, 41555 Grand River Ave., Novi (248) 348-1800, Sunday July 22, from 4-8 PM.
In state at Holy Family Church, 24505 Meadowbrook Rd., Novi, Monday 10 AM until the funeral liturgy at 10:30 AM.
Memorial donations may be made to Alzheimer's Association or a charity of choice.
