Vida G. Chirgwin (nee Cream)
Chirgwin, Vida Gail of South Lyon, formerly of Novi, age 73, died Thursday, January 18, 2018 at Angela Hospice in Livonia. Vida was born in Flint, MI on November 5, 1944, the daughter of the late Leonard Cream and Emma Cream (Gebhardt). She earned a Master's degree in education from the University of Michigan. On June 29, 1968 she married Paul Chirgwin in Flint. Surviving are her husband Paul; sons Matthew (Rachel), Mark (Jennifer), and Christopher; grandchildren, Taylor, Nicholas, Austin, Kaylee, Sydney, and Madelyn; sister, Leonore Hardison. She was preceded in death by her brother, Jack Cream.
Vida taught school for 21 years at Village Oaks Elementary in Novi. She was kind and caring to her students, family, and friends. She enjoyed playing tennis and exercising at the Novi Sports Club. She was a good bridge player and also loved gardening. Neighbors could often see Vida outside caring for her flowers. She will be greatly missed.
Visitation will be held at O'Brien Sullivan funeral home at 41555 Grand River Avenue Novi, from 1 to 4pm Sunday January 21st followed by a service also at the funeral home from 4 to 5pm. All are invited to a dinner starting at 5:30 pm to be held at Big Tommy's Parthenon 40380 Grand River Ave, Novi MI 48375.
