Obituary

Victoria Dean came to rest on May 24, 2026, surrounded by the love of her family. In keeping with her generous spirit and lifelong desire to help others, she made the selfless decision to donate her body to the Wayne State University Body Bequest Program. Through this incredible gift, her legacy lives on by supporting vital medical research and the training of future healthcare professionals.

Born on July 6, 1971, Vicky was the cherished daughter of Sandra and Terence Dean. She grew up in a vibrant family alongside her siblings, Rachel and Simon. Vicky lived a life defined by her fierce loyalty, deep warmth, and an infectious sense of fun.

Though she proudly worked in the medical field earlier in life, severe health challenges forced her to step away years ago. Yet, those challenges never dimmed her spirit. Vicky completely refused to be defined by her ailments. Instead, she chose fierce resilience, making the absolute best of every single day and living life to the fullest despite every obstacle in her path.

Vicky poured her vibrant energy into the things that brought genuine happiness. As a child she participated in Irish dancing and played the piano as well as the clarinet. She was a beautiful child and even won a beautiful baby competition. Maybe this is why she was known as “Vicky Dean the Beauty Queen”!

She took immense pride in her home, keeping it meticulously organized and beautifully decorated to create a warm, welcoming space. A deeply social soul, she cherished her friends and was happiest when surrounded by them, sharing in laughter, music, concerts, and the beauty of the ballet. Whether she was out on the water kayaking, enjoying the sunshine, or relaxing with her beloved dogs, Vicky knew how to find the joy in life. Above all, she was a devoted friend and a fiercely loyal anchor to her family. Her favorite sign-off to those she loved will echo in their hearts forever: "Love you to the Sky!"

Vicky’s proudest moments were centered around the people she loved. She is survived by her devoted parents, Sandra and Terence Dean; her sister, Rachel (and brother-in-law Steven); her brother, Simon (and sister-in-law Cheryl); her adored nieces, Aleena and Marissa; her beloved nephew, Andrew; and a wide circle of deeply valued friends and extended family. She was preceded in death by her cherished grandparents, Nana and Granda Harris, and Nana and Granda Dean.
