Obituary

Thomas John Williams, age 79, passed away peacefully on June 14, 2026, in New Hudson, Michigan.

Born on February 2, 1947, in Highland Park, Michigan, Thomas was the beloved son of the late Lois J. (Sager) Williams and John "Jack" James Williams. He was a devoted father, grandfather, brother, veteran, and friend whose love of family and music left a lasting impression on all who knew him.

Thomas was the cherished father of Tracy (Sam) Moussa and Cathy (Jason) Chaldecott. He was a proud and doting grandfather to Austin, Blake, and Sofia Moussa, and Jack and Devin Chaldecott, all of whom brought him immense joy and pride.

He is survived by his loving siblings: Carol Rodgers, Jimmy Williams, Rory Williams, Kevin Williams, Janice D'Agostino, John Williams, Daniel Williams, and Mark Williams. He was preceded in death by his sister, Lynne Watkins.

Thomas retired from General Motors after many years of dedicated service. He also proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam War, a commitment he carried with honor throughout his life.

Music was one of Thomas's greatest passions. As a young man, he played the drums and later spent most of his life playing guitar. Gifted with a remarkable ear for music, he could pick up and play virtually any instrument without formal training. His love for music was reflected in the artists he admired most, including Led Zeppelin, The Rolling Stones, and Eric Clapton. Whether listening to his favorite songs or playing music himself, Thomas found joy and expression through every note.

Above all, Thomas treasured time with his family. His warmth, humor, talent, and generous spirit will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing him.

Private family services were held at Great Lakes National Cemetery.
