McSweeney, Thomas L. Sr.  age 71,  died at the University of Michigan Hospital on April 18, 2012 after a brave battle with IPF. Beloved and cherished husband of Genevieve for 48 years. Loving father and proud grandfather of Catherine (Rick) Bunka and their children Emily, Sarah and Justin. Thomas V. (Jeanna) McSweeney and their children, Thomas, Mollie, Maureen and Scott, Suzanne (Jim) Wineka and their children, Caitlin and Nick, Joseph (Elizabeth) McSweeney and their children, Cash and Lila.
Dear brother of Julie King, Nancy (Bob) Oaks, Mary Lou (Ernie) Budzinski, Peggy McSweeney, Joe McSweeney,  Eugene (Lori) McSweeney. Step-brother of Julie Journigan, Patsy (Ray) Belanger, Marti Judge, Sara Twomey, Susie (Mike) Williams and Johenne (Bob) Eggert.
Dear brother-in-law of Roy (Theresa) Chouinard, Leo (Sandra) Chouinard, Paul (Mary Kay) Chouinard, Janice Covey, Elaine Allison, Richard (Kathleen) Chouinard, Cheryl (Jim) O'Donnell and Donald Chouinard.
Thomas was preceded in death by his parents Catherine and Thomas L. McSweeney,  stepson of Patricia Lyons McSweeney, and in-laws, Irene and Vincent J. Chouinard. Also his much beloved brother-in-law Clayton Covey.  He also leaves behind many nieces and nephews. He was a loving and loyal friend to many.
Although he will be greatly missed our greatest gift to him was to let him go. In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to:
