Thomas H. Marcus Sr., beloved husband, devoted father, and loving grandfather, passed away on June 16, 2023, at the age of 86. He leaves behind a legacy of love, strength, and community involvement that will be cherished by all who had the pleasure of knowing him.

Tom was the cherished husband of Thelma Marcus for 49 beautiful years. Together, they built a life filled with love, laughter, and shared dreams. Thomas was a loving father to his children Tom (Karen) Marcus and Mary (Joe) Pennebaker-Conaway. His unconditional love and unwavering support were a constant source of inspiration to his children.

Tom took great joy in his role as a grandfather. He adored his grandchildren Thomas, Tyler, Taylor, Travis, Koryn, Kayla, and James, and they held a special place in his heart. Spending time with them brought immense happiness to his life, and his love will forever remain in their hearts.
Toms is survived by his brother Don (Kim), Jerry (Colleen), Richard (the late Cathy), Patricia Bastien, Kathleen (Kurt) Dreher and the late Marianne Velez.

Professionally, Tom made a significant impact as the former owner of Marcus Glass from 1970 to 1990. His dedication, business acumen, and craftsmanship were evident in every project he undertook. Tom took great pride in his work and built a reputation for excellence within the industry.

Tom was a resident and active member of his Novi community for almost 60 years. He was a charter member of the Novi Jaycees and founder of the Novi Lions Club, where he made lasting friendships and contributed to various charitable endeavors. He has been known as Novi's #1 fan as he spent his Friday nights running the flag at Novi football games and extended his enthusiasm to all Novi athletic teams for 50+ years. Tom is also well-known for his generosity of serving his delicious Marcus Burgers throughout the community, Coffee & Donuts from his glass shop at the Memorial Day Parade, and his Ice Cream Social, just to name a few.

As Tom would say, "We are not here for a long time, we are here for a good time" and he certainly lived life to the fullest!!

Friends and loved ones are invited to pay their respects at the visitation, which will be held at the O'Brien/Sullivan Funeral Home located at 41555 Grand River Ave, Novi, on June 20, 2023 beginning at 2:00pm until 8:00pm.

The funeral service will take place at Holy Family Church, located at 24505 Meadowbrook Road, Novi. With an instate period for Tom starting at 10:00am on Wednesday June 21 until time of funeral liturgy at 10:30am. To watch a livestream of the funeral mass for Tom please click here
