Greenwell, Thomas Jeffrey of Mountain View, California, age 53, passed away suddenly on Wednesday, February 14, 2018, at his home. Cremation has taken place. A celebration of Tom's life will take place at Catholic Central High School chapel 27225 Wixom Rd., Novi, MI. 48374 on Saturday, June 9. 2018. Fr Richard Elmer, CSB will officiate mass at 12 noon. Interment will take place immediately following at Holy Sepulchre Catholic Cemetery, Southfield MI.
Tom was born September 25, 1964, in Detroit, Michigan, a son of the late Donald E. Greenwell Sr. and Mary Ann (Duffy) Greenwell. Tom attended our Lady of Sorrows Elementary school and graduated from Detroit Catholic Central High School, class of 1982. Tom then proudly served our country in the U. S. Navy as a nuclear power technician aboard the aircraft carrier USS Enterprise CVN-65. Tom continued his education at California State University at Chico, graduating with a degree in Mechanical Engineering. He worked for over 20 years for the Northrop Grumman Corporation. Tom was an avid reader, well liked and had an easygoing personality. He was a lifelong Detroit Tiger and Red Wings fan.
Those left to cherish his life are his sisters: Ann M. (Robert) Cameron,Susan M. Meconi, and Ellen M. Stone, and his brothers Donald E. (Jennifer) Greenwell Jr.,Dr. Mark G. (Lois) Greenwell, Brian E.(Linda) Greenwell, and James J. (Patricia) Greenwell, and special friend Tamara Martin. Tom was preceded in death by his parents.
In lieu of flowers, charitable donations can be made in Tom's honor to Catholic Central High School Building Fund.
