Thomas J. Doyle, age 75, passed away peacefully on Sunday, September 15, 2024, in Novi, Michigan. He was born to the late Edward and Catherine Doyle and is predeceased by his brother Peter.

Tom was a devoted family man and loving father. He is survived by his daughter Colleen (Evy) and son Brian (Jill) from his first wife Diane, who passed in 2012. Tom later found love again with his second wife Susan, who passed in 2021, and is survived by her sons William (Caron), James (Bridget), and David (Allison). He was a proud grandfather to Evy, Ben, Hudson, Nora, Andrew, Robert, Gabrielle, Camden, Alexandria, and Avery.

For over 40 years, Tom dedicated his life to caring for others as an oncology physician, particularly serving the downtown Detroit community. His patients were always his priority, and he took great pride in supporting them through their most challenging times.

A man of many passions, Tom loved traveling, with Hawaii and Ireland holding special places in his heart. He had a deep love for Irish music, humor, and comedy, and was a regular attendee at the symphony until late in life. He was a devoted member of the St. James Catholic Church choir, where he sang for many years. Despite personal and professional loss, Tom remained resilient and positive throughout his life, always finding joy in his family and the simple pleasures of life.

Tom was also a proud Vietnam War veteran, having served in the Army. He was an avid sports fan, especially devoted to U of M Football, the Detroit Tigers, and the Lions. He enjoyed staying active through running, tennis, and exercise as long as he was able. While he enjoyed learning the piano, he preferred listening to music over practicing.

He came alive around his family, particularly his cousins, nephews and niece and cherished those moments. His presence, humor, and wisdom will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.

Visitation will be held at the O'Brien/Sullivan Funeral Home, 41555 Grand River Avenue, Novi, on Thursday, September 19, 2024, from 3:00 PM to 8:00 PM, with a scripture service at 7:00 PM. On Friday, September 20, 2024, Tom will lie in state at St. James Catholic Church, 46325 West 10 Mile Road, Novi, from 9:30 AM until the time of the funeral liturgy at 10:00 AM.
