In Loving Memory of Suzette Gabrielle Pogats
Suzette Gabrielle Pogats, born on May 13, 1934, peacefully passed away at her home on January 13, 2024, surrounded by the love of her family and under the devoted care of her husband of 24 years, Harold.
Suzette was born to the late Henry and Gabrielle and shared her childhood with four siblings. She is survived by her sister Jeannette, while three brothers, Henry, John, and Gilbert, have preceded her in death. Suzette's legacy lives on through her three children, Shelly (Mike), Craig (Mary), and the late Gary, as well as her step-children Jon (Susan) and Sam.
A cherished grandmother, Suzette leaves behind four grandchildren, Gabrielle, Madalyn, Korina, and Taylor, along with two great-grandchildren, Alana and Silver. Family was the cornerstone of Suzette's life, and she took immense pride in the accomplishments and joys of her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
Suzette dedicated over two decades of her life to Southfield Public Schools, where she served as a Pom Pon Coach and Secretary to the Principal. Her commitment to education touched the lives of many, leaving a lasting impact on the community she served.
A devout member of Holy Family Catholic Church, Suzette's faith was central to her being. She lived as a true Catholic woman, exemplifying generosity, kindness, and a warm smile. Her compassion extended not only to people but also to children and dogs alike.
Beyond her professional and community contributions, Suzette was known for her culinary talents. She was a fantastic cook, renowned for her fancy, unique cookies and apple pies. Her creativity extended to sewing, where she lovingly crafted Halloween costumes for her grandchildren. Suzette also found joy in preserving memories through scrapbooking, creating tangible treasures that will be cherished by generations to come.
Suzette's caring nature extended to her role as a loving wife to Harold. Together, they built a life filled with love, laughter, and shared moments. Her dedication to family was evident in the care she provided to her husband and children, making her a source of strength and support.

Family and friends are invited to pay their respects at the O'Brien/Sullivan Funeral Home on Thursday, January 18, 2024, from 3:00 pm until 8:00 pm. Visitation will continue at Holy Family Catholic Church on Friday, January 19, 2024, from 10:30 am until the Mass begins at 11:00 am. Suzette's memory will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved her, and her legacy of love and warmth will forever be remembered.
