Obituary

Suzanne K. Lopez ("Sue")

Suzanne K. Lopez, affectionately known as "Sue," passed away peacefully on July 14, 2026, in Canton, Michigan, at the age of 71.

Born on May 27, 1955, in Detroit, Michigan, Sue lived a life centered on love, kindness, and family. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend whose gentle spirit and generous heart touched everyone who knew her.

Sue was a proud graduate of Henry Ford High School. She dedicated her career to caring for children, first by operating an in-home daycare and later serving as a supervisor at Canton Township Kids' Corner, where she worked for 18 years. She found great joy in nurturing young lives and was admired for her patience, knowledge, kindness, and unwavering compassion. Her heart of gold and caring nature made a lasting impact on countless children, families, and coworkers.

Sue embraced life's simple pleasures. She loved shopping, cooking delicious meals for those she loved, fishing, bowling, taking scenic car rides, visiting apple orchards, traveling, spending time by the ocean, and enjoying seafood. She was an enthusiastic supporter of Detroit sports, faithfully cheering on the Lions, Tigers, and Pistons. She also cherished her beloved dog, Macy, who brought her endless companionship and happiness.

Above all else, Sue's greatest joy and proudest accomplishment was her family. She took immense pride in watching her children graduate from college and build successful lives, and nothing brought a bigger smile to her face than spending time with her grandsons. Her family was the center of her world, and she loved each of them with all her heart.

Sue will be forever loved and deeply missed by her beloved husband, Tim; her daughter, Kristina (Anthony) Candito; her sons, Matthew and Michael; her cherished grandsons, Ryan and Kyle Candito; her sister, Carole (Steve) Klapproth; and many loving nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends.

She was preceded in death by her father, Robert; her mother, Jacqueline; her sister, Lynn; and her brother-in-law, Butch Jones.

Sue will be remembered for her warm smile, her patient and caring heart, her wisdom, and her unwavering devotion to the people she loved. She had a remarkable ability to make everyone feel welcome, valued, and cared for. Her legacy of kindness, compassion, and unconditional love will live on in the hearts of all who were blessed to know her.

Although our hearts are broken, we find comfort in the countless memories she created and the love she leaves behind. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered.

A memorial visitation will be held on July 25th, 2026, at O'Brien-Sullivan Funeral Home at 41555 Grand River Rd. Novi, MI, from 11 a.m. to 2:30p.m. A memorial service will be held at 2:30p.m following the visitation.
