Milligan, Steven P. Age 66, of Novi, MI passed away at his home on Friday, October 28, 2022. He is survived by his loving partner of 36 years, Lynn Rowe. Steve had 2 children, Christine Koss and AJ (Lindsay) Rowe. He was affectionately known as Pappy by his 7 grandchildren; Lexi, Molly, Maddy, Emme, Riley, Gunner and Willow Rowe. Steve is also survived by siblings Diane (Tim) Preston, Michael (Amy) Milligan and Kenny Milligan, as well as many aunts and uncles, nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents Richard and Jo-Ann Milligan.
In reflection, there is no doubt that Steve lived a very big life! He ran two successful businesses, National Gunite and Southfield Building Supply, where many coworkers, associates and customers became more like family. He was raised in Livonia, graduating from Stevenson High School in 1974. He had a love for cars, enjoyed rides on his motorcycle and boat, and had fun perfecting his golf game. He was known to put on the best firework display every Fourth of July, and most years, would pick out the biggest Douglas Fir he could find at Christmas; so big he would have to trim to get it in the door. He was also the proud recipient of numerous subdivision awards for his Christmas light display.... a real life Clark Griswold. He was a fine card player, had a laugh larger than life, and was the true life of the party. If he wasn't at work or home, you could likely find him at Coach's or the Nibble Nook, two of his favorite places, or watching an old western or James Bond movies. He looked forward to vacationing in Florida every January with his love, Lynn, with a drink in his hand. He sure loved the beach!.
If you ask just about anyone, from Novi to Livonia, they knew Steve Milligan. But not only did they know him, they loved him. He was so very generous, was how he led with example.
Steve's presence will always be remembered at every family gathering, every time the Christmas Carol plays on TV, and every time a hand of cards is dealt. He will be truly and endlessly missed.
