Stanley Kadlubowski was born on September 26, 1926 to Victoria (nee Szamatowicz) and John Kadlubowski. He attended Chadsey High School in Detroit where he earned dual certifications as a Diesel Mechanic and as a Draftsman. After high school, Stanley was employed as a Design Engineer, working for Teledyne Technologies in the Aerospace division. While at Teledyne, while World War II was raging, Stanley enlisted in the Navy and due to his technical background, was assigned as a Seabee. The Seabees specialized in building military infrastructure such as bridges, roads and airfields, while also serving as a combat-ready force capable of defending their build sites. Stanley was a proud veteran who served his country with honor. Once his tour was complete, he returned to work at Teledyne until he retired.
Stanley was an avid car enthusiast who also enjoyed working on the several vehicles he owned. His love of cars took him on many road trips to visit relatives in Toledo, Kalamazoo, and several other locations. At that time, there were no speed limits on the highway and he took full advantage of “opening it up” on the road. Later on in life, when he wasn’t gardening, he enjoyed daily walks from his home to go shopping or to visit the Riverwalk and various other notable locations in downtown Detroit.
Faith and family was at the core of Stanley’s life. He served as an usher for many years at St. Alphonsus-St. Clement Church in Dearborn, and was a devoted son, bother and uncle. He was a true friend to many, but especially to the friends he made over the past couple years. Stanley is survived by his sister, Helen, as well as nieces, nephews and many dear friends who will miss him greatly.
Stanley is preceded in death by his parents.
Visitation will be held at 10 AM on Tuesday, June 9, at St. Alphonsus-St. Clement Church, 13540 Gould, Dearborn, Michigan 48126, (near the corner of Warren Ave and Schaefer) until time of Rosary at 10:30 AM, followed by the funeral mass. Interment will be private.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to St. Alphonsus-St. Clement Church are appreciated.
