Shirley was a long time resident of Novi (1959) and contributed much to the early development of Novi as it became a city and the school district as the first High School was built and programs established. She was active as voting precinct volunteer and managed the Novi school elections in the 80's. She volunteered with the United Way locally and then managed the donation drive for all of Oakland Co. She spent many happy summers at the house on Lake Huron where she hosted the bridge club yearly sleep over and her 4th of July birthday bash. She was a kind and gracious lady who will be missed. She is survived by her husband Don, children: Don Jr, Marcia, Jeffrey and granddaughter Chelsea.
A Memorial Gathering will be held at the O'Brien/Sullivan Funeral Home, 41555 Grand River Avenue, Novi 248-348-1800 on Wednesday, December 21, 2016 from 3:00pm – 8:00pm. Memorial donations may be made to the Michigan Humane Society - www.michiganhumane.org .
