In Loving Memory of Sharon Levagood

Sharon Levagood, born on January 18, 1948, in Detroit, Michigan, left this world on September, 6, 2023 at the age of 75. She passed away surrounded by her loving family, leaving behind a legacy of warmth, strength, and unwavering kindness.

Sharon's journey through life was marked by the love and connections she forged with others. She graduated from Mackenzie High School in 1966, and it was at her place of employment in 1967 that she met her soulmate, James Levagood. Their love story blossomed, and on June 5, 1971, they exchanged vows in the picturesque chapel at Greenfield Village. Their union was blessed with the arrival of their only daughter, Jennifer, who brought immeasurable joy into their lives.

Music held a special place in Sharon's heart, and she shared her passion through participation in both a Christian singing group and a community singing group. Her melodious voice brought comfort and inspiration to those fortunate enough to hear it.

Sharon's professional career led her into the field of healthcare, where she served as an insurance biller. She found great satisfaction in her work, contributing to the well-being of others.

A woman of faith, Sharon delighted in her Bible studies, finding solace and spiritual growth through her devotion. Her faith was a pillar of her life, guiding her through every challenge.

Sharon cherished family time, particularly the moments spent on boating and camping trips. These adventures created lasting memories and strengthened the bonds with her husband, daughter, Jennifer (Mark) Wenzel, and, later, her four beloved grandchildren: Rylan, Ryan, Brayden, Addison and many nieces and nephews. Her love and laughter filled these precious moments, leaving an indelible mark on her family's hearts.

Throughout her life, Sharon faced health challenges with extraordinary strength and an unwaveringly positive attitude. She was a true fighter, never allowing adversity to dim her spirit. Her courage in the face of adversity served as an inspiration to all who knew her.

Sharon's kindness was a beacon of light to everyone she encountered. Her warm smile and compassionate nature left an enduring impact on the lives of those fortunate enough to cross her path.

She shared an unbreakable bond with her sisters, Deb Greiner (Mark) Greiner and Donna Slotka. Their sisterhood was a source of strength, love, and support.

Sharon was preceded in death by her parents, Daniel and Marie McCarthy, her brother Danny McCarthy, her brother-in-law Ken Slotka, her in-laws Dr. Floyd and Margaret Levagood.

Sharon Levagood's life was a testament to the power of love, faith, and resilience. She will forever be remembered as a loving wife, a devoted mother and grandmother, a faithful friend, and a beacon of kindness. Her memory will live on in the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to know her.
