Ruth Lenore (Miller) Tackabery

Ruth Tackabery, age 87, of Novi, Michigan, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, July 8, 2020, surrounded by family.

Beloved wife of Harry Ward Tackabery; devoted mother of Terry (spouse, Yvonne Estrada) Wolverton; caring step-mother of Susan Tackabery; much-loved sister of Marilyn Gepp; beloved aunt to Randy (wife, Alice) Gepp, Sherry (husband, Tim) Bradish and Kathy (husband, Tom) Boughey.

Born July 26, 1932 in East Lansing, Michigan to Charles W. and Elsba Mae (Leatherman) Miller. Ruth graduated from East Lansing High School and attended Michigan State University. Working in office management until retirement, she was proudest of having dispatched trains for Wyandotte Chemical Company, provided employment counseling at Dorothy Day Personnel, and being promoted to Vice President of Associated Physical Therapists. Upon retiring, she volunteered in a literacy program with the Novi Library and served as Deacon at First Presbyterian Church.

Ruth enjoyed travel. She and Harry cruised to Alaska and visited Arizona. With her daughter Terry, she cruised to Hawaii and traveled to Italy, Monterey Bay and New York. An avid reader, Ruth also enjoyed movies, cards, and dining out. Friends knew her as smart, kind and supportive.

Ruth was preceded in death by husband, Harry, her parents and her sister. Ruth will be sadly missed by her daughter & daughter-in-law, nieces & nephews and many friends who cherish her memory.

A memorial service will be held at O'Brien Sullivan Funeral Home, 41555 Grand River Avenue, Novi on Monday, July 13 at 11:00am. After the service, it may be viewed online at https://www.obriensullivanfuneralhome.com/obituaries/Ruth-Tackabery/ . In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to First Presbyterian Church of Northville or to RAICES.

Those attending are warmly invited to join the family for lunch at 12:15 p.m. on the patio of Moe's on Ten, 39455 West 10 Mile Road, Novi.
