Obituary

Mrs. Ruth Kennedy was born in Shreveport, Louisiana on August 27, 1940. She was the only child and the pride and joy of Ms. Bertha Brown. At an early age, Mrs. Ruth relocated to Detroit, Michigan where she graduated from Eastern High School and later became the proud Mother of two handsome sons, Michael and Keith. Mrs. Kennedy's love for her sons was strong and indestructible. She was a phenomenal legal secretary for multiple law offices in the downtown Detroit area. She later shared her skills with the St. Martin De Porres School System.
Mrs. Ruth was known for her strong drive to improve her neighborhood. She was the president of "The Crane Block Club." She spent precious time with not only her children but the neighborhood children as well. She took the kids on numerous field trips to places like Boblo Island, Edgewater Amusement Park and fishing. She also gave some awesome block parties for everyone to enjoy. After retiring from the St. Martin De Porres School System. Mrs. Ruth became a volunteer at the Parade Company. She spent many long nights helping to get the parade floats to perfection for the Thanksgiving Parades. Mrs. Ruth also had a vast love for music and dancing, often grooving to the sounds of Sam Cooke and Jackie Wilson, just to name a couple.
Mrs. Ruth was preceded in death by her Grandchildren, Brian Harvey, Keith Jr., and Sharice Nicole Smith. She leaves to cherish her memories, her two sons Michael (Kimberly) Jamison of Michigan and Keith Liscomb of California, her Granddaughter Maya Whitney Jamison, and her Grandson Brandon Harvey. She also leaves a daughter-in-law Kimberly Jamison, whom she affectionately referred to as her redhead daughter, a bonus granddaughter Brittany Lampkin, and a host of family and friends whom she loved dearly.
