Ruth Elizabeth Hazlett Marroni
7/29/1925 – 2/25/2023
Ruth, an almost 90 year resident of Northville, Michigan, was sent to Our Lord at the age of 97. She was preceded in death by her husband of 48 years, W. J. Marroni.
Ruth was a wonderful mother to Anthony Marroni (Kerry), Louise Marroni, Michael Marroni, Beverly Dootz (Gary), Julia Chapin (James), and Jenny Marroni. She had six grandchildren, Randy Svatora (Wendy), Christopher Marroni (Eliza), Andrew Marroni (Mary Kate), Kelly Bicy (Phil), Gabriel Marroni (Holly), and Nicholas Marroni, and seven great-grandchildren, Ataliya, Aaliyah, and Aubrey Bicy, Dominic and Calvin Marroni, Rosie Marroni, and, in loving memory, Vincent Anthony Marroni.
We loved her very much and will miss her big hugs, wisdom, humor, and cooking.
Ruth retired from Northville State Hospital and enjoyed trips to New York, Chicago, Las Vegas, Iowa, and Florida. Both Ruth and her mother were two of the original Rosie the Riveters. Ruth worked at the Ford Factory during her late teens in the early 1940's.
Ruth had a beautiful soul, and she was very passionate about feeding the homeless and those who are less fortunate. She loved to care for others, and she treated everyone with kindness. She welcomed others into her family with open arms, and plenty of love. She also enjoyed taking care of the donated flowers at the funeral home. She would assemble the arrangements herself, and she always tried to make sure they went to the people in nursing homes that did not receive many visitors. Ruth loved flowers, and so did her husband. Together they kept many big, beautiful rose bushes.
Special thanks to Ben Arcenal and the staff at A Home for Mom and Dad. While Ruth loved flowers, she hoped that donations in her honor would be made to the
Vinnie Marroni Miracle Assist Foundation
or to the
Salvation Army
.
