Roy M. Wilson, III, 77, was born July 11, 1948 in Detroit and died January 26, 2026 after a long illness. Roy as predeceased by his parents Roy M. Wilson, II and Julia W. Wilson, and is survived by his loving wife of 44 years, Carolyn J. Wilson, beloved son Roy M. Wilson IV, stepchildren John and Sherry Kulakowsky and grandchildren, Travis and Skylar Kulakowsky and his brother Thomas R. Wilson, sister Nancy Lis and late brother Bill Wilson. He attended Cooke Elementary School Detroit, graduated from Detroit Catholic Central and earned a finance degree from University of Detroit studying evenings. He was an Eagle Scout and all Catholic Central - board member of CC alumni association Board of Directors and alumni glee club and seemed to promoting CC, one way or another every week of his life. He was a season ticket holder for the Detroit Pistons, Lions, and Tigers for decades. He was elected Grand Knight at Monaghan Council Knights of Columbus, Livonia and was as well as a long-time member of the Detroit Athletic Club. Roy loved the game of golf and played until last summer when he took a trip to Dubai and Paris with Carolyn and Roy IV. Roy began a career in real estate with Earl Keim in northwest Detroit in the early 70's while a student at U of D and followed a path in real estate for the next 53 years. He was a regional manager for Merrill Lynch Relocation for several of the early years. After Merrill, he rejoined Earl Keim. His last stop was a partnership with his son, Roy IV at Remerica United Realty in Novi where he achieved the top one percent of real estate sales nationwide. Roy was an annual retreatant at the Passionist Retreat House, Detroit and life time worshiper at the St. James Catholic Church, Novi. He was a dedicated follower of Bill Wilson for over 40 years, helping many others. The family will visit with friends at O'Brien Sullivan Funeral Home, 41555 Grand River, Novi on February 5 from 5 to 8 pm with a scripture service at 7:00 pm and a Monaghan K of C rosary at 7:30. Mr. Wilson will be interred at the Wilson family plot, Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Southfield.
