Of Brighton. Romayne Rita Carletti, affectionately known as Mamie, passed away at the age of 89 on March 15, 2025, after a brief battle with pneumonia. Born in Hibbing, MN on April 24, 1935, Romayne was a proud graduate of Mercy High School, class of '53 and honored as alumna of the year in 1991. She was a loving daughter to Rex and Stella Carletti, a loving and inseparable sister to Kathleen Boes (the late Dale), and a loving and caring aunt to Bridget (Paul) Flanagan, Kevin (Danielle) Boes, John (Cheryl) Boes, and Mike Boes. Romayne was also a proud great aunt to Andrew (Samantha) and Zachary Boes, Michael Flanagan, Elizabeth Balawajder (Tom), and Julie Flanagan, and Anthony, Vincent, and Michael Boes. She loved her nieces and nephews as if they were her own children.
Romayne had an adventurous spirit and enjoyed trips to Europe in her younger years. She also enjoyed vacationing over the years with her sister Kathleen, brother-in-law Dale, and her nieces and nephews in Florida with many memorable visits to Walt Disney World. Romayne dedicated time to caring for her aging parents at their family home in Southfield until their passing. A devout Catholic, Romayne was deeply committed to her faith and gave much of her time to Saint Michael Church in Southfield, the Christ Child Society, and the Mercy High School Alumni Association.
Romayne enjoyed a successful 40+ year career at the D.P. Brother/Leo Burnett advertising agency. She coordinated the firm's participation at the Detroit Auto Show and other major events hosting celebrities and executives. She was always the smiling face welcoming colleagues and guests. The love of her job, shown by her engaging and outgoing personality, was appreciated by all. She will be fondly remembered, loved, and missed by everyone who had the good fortune of knowing her.
Visitation will be held at the O'Brien/Sullivan Funeral Home, 41555 Grand River Avenue, Novi, 248-348-1800 on Sunday, March 23, 2025 from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM with a rosary at 7:00 PM. Instate Monday, March 24, 2025 at the Church of the Transfiguration, 25225 Code Road, Southfield from 9:30 AM until time of the funeral liturgy 10:00 AM. Interment will take place at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Southfield immediately following the liturgy.
