Robert Glenn Hanson, age 88, passed away peacefully on June 13, 2024. Born on October 14, 1935, in Detroit, Michigan, he was the cherished son of the late Glenn and Carol (Barter) Hanson.
Robert was the beloved husband of the late Barbara and the late Patricia. He was a devoted father to Robert G. (Debbie) Hanson Jr., Deborah (and the late Thomas) Discher, Gary (Cindy) Sinelli, Denise, and the late Larry Sinelli and James "Jasbo" Hanson. He is also survived by many loving grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Robert was a dear brother to Donald (Darlene) and a treasured uncle to two nieces and one nephew. Additionally, he is survived by his longtime companion, Joyce.
Mr. Hanson was the proud owner and operator of Excel Products Co. In his leisure time, he enjoyed bowling, achieving the remarkable feat of a perfect 300 game. He also had a passion for puzzles.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, June 18, 2024, from 3:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the O'Brien/Sullivan Funeral Home, located at 41555 Grand River, Novi, MI 48375. A Funeral Service will be conducted on Wednesday, June 19, 2024, at 11:30 AM at the funeral home, followed by entombment at Oakland Hills Memorial Gardens.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to the Alzheimer's Association, honoring Robert's memory and supporting a cause close to his heart.
Robert Glenn Hanson will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him. His legacy of love, dedication, and kindness will forever remain in the hearts of his family and friends.
