Robert Kerr Gibson, born on May 31, 1935, passed away peacefully on August 1, 2024. Beloved husband of Dorothy Mae Joanna Gibson (née Duerinckx), Robert was a devoted family man, deeply cherished by his children: Kevin Robert Gibson (Xin Pan), Elise (Fritz) Duda, Paul Douglas Gibson, and Christina Anne Gibson (Brian Reyes).
Robert was the proud grandfather of Robert Y. Gibson, Matthew J. Gibson, Virginia M. Duda, Elizabeth G. Duda, Fritz L. Duda, Douglas K. Gibson, and Riley K. Gibson. He was the loving son of the late Robert Black Gibson and Elsie Wallace Gibson (née Kerr) and the dear brother of the late Elizabeth D. Smith (née Gibson) and Sheila M. MacDonald (née Gibson).
Robert dedicated his career to Ford Motor Company, working in Finance and Operations. He held a Bachelor's Degree in Chemical Engineering from the University of Toronto in 1958. and a Master's of Business Administration from Ivey Business School, Western University in 1962.
An avid enthusiast of downhill and cross-country skiing, Robert also enjoyed playing squash, indulging in his passion for WWI and WWII history, and exploring the world through travel. He delighted in playing bridge and various other games, sharing his competitive spirit and camaraderie with friends and family.
A private service will be held for his family. In lieu of flowers, donations in Robert's honor can be made to a charity of your choice.
