Rev. Robert John Duggan, C.S.B. Age 80

Dear son of the late Susan and Raymond.
Beloved brother of Patricia (Bill) Antonnette and the late Lawrence (Marge) Duggan.
Proud uncle of 11 nieces and nephews, great uncle of 24.
He is also survived by many cousins and his Basilian confrères.
Among his many assignments, Father Duggan taught at Catholic Central High School (1965-1974), and served as a weekend assistant at St. Blase Parish during those years; he was pastor of St. John the Baptist Church in Amherstburg, ON (1982-1989) and pastor at Ste. Anne de Detroit Parish in Southwest Detroit (1989-2003).
Father Duggan sat on the board of several neighborhood associations, including the Bagley Housing Association. This resulted in a twenty-million-dollar infusion for community development. Father Duggan was passionate about helping young people. He was involved in GRACE (Gang Retirement and Education/ Employment) while he was at St. Anne de Detroit Father Duggan was founder of the Detroit Area Film Teachers (DAFT) in 1969. During his time at St. Blase he was coordinator of the Charismatic Prayer Groups for the Archdiocese of Detroit.
Father Duggan had a weekly radio program titled "Our God Reigns" as director of the Catholic Charismatic Renewal Center.
Father Duggan was an avid golfer, reader, sports fan and a devoted Tiger fan. Fr. Duggan also enjoyed traveling and spending time in Ireland with his family and friends.
Visitation Thursday 4-8pm with a Scripture Service at 7pm at Catholic Central High School 27225 Wixom, Novi.
