A retired teacher for the Detroit Board of Education died at his home on Wednesday April 21, 2008. He was 67.
Mr. Cohen was born in Detroit. He graduated from Central High School in Detroit. He received his Masters Degree from Wayne State University.
Mr. Cohen taught for 30 years in the Detroit school system. He was very active in amateur swimming and served in high levels for the Michigan Swimming, the local arm of amateur swimming in the US.
He is survived by three sons Jeffrey (Kimberly), Jonathan (Jennifer) and Steven (Sarah) and his brother Joel (Betsy). He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 26 years Cynthia. He is the cherished grandfather of 6 grandchildren. A graveside service will be held at Oakland Hills Cemetery on Monday April 28th at 1:00pm.
