Robert Thomas Beggs December 15, 1939 – November 2, 2025
Robert Thomas Beggs, beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on November 2, 2025, at the age of 85.
Born on December 15, 1939, Robert was the devoted husband of Patricia (Keller) for 63 wonderful years. Together, they built a loving family and a life filled with laughter, kindness, and service to others. He was the proud and caring father of John (Linda) Beggs and Flo Comini, and the cherished grandfather of Robert (Julia) Beggs. He was also the brother of the late Dan Beggs.
Robert spent 26 years as a Senior Engineering Technician at Kelsey-Hayes, where his skill, work ethic, and ingenuity earned him the admiration of his colleagues. A true craftsman at heart, Robert could fix anything for anybody, and was always willing to lend a helping hand.
He loved the outdoors and enjoyed spending time gardening, working on model train sets, and watching historic baseball at Greenfield Village. He also volunteered for many years at The Henry Ford Museum. When his children were at home, he supported Boy Scout Troop 854 as the Treasurer and proudly drove the PCEP Marching Band equipment truck to band competitions. Robert was also active in maintaining the Cherry United Methodist Church in Canton where Patricia and he are members.
Above all, Robert lived by the motto "family first". His generosity, humor, and steady presence will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
A Celebration of Robert's Life will be held at O'Brien/Sullivan Funeral Home, 41555 Grand River, on Saturday, November 29, at 11:00 a.m. with visitation beginning at 10:00 a.m.
