Robena Vance, a pillar of strength, independence, and love, departed from this world on April 10, 2024. Born on March 23, 1951, Robena led a life filled with kindness, generosity, and unwavering determination. She was a beloved mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend whose presence brightened the lives of all who knew her.
Robena was a woman of boundless compassion and drive. Throughout her career in the health insurance industry, she was an account executive, leaving an indelible mark through her dedication and hard work. Her pivotal role in the formation of HAP from Blue Cross Blue Shield stands as a testament to her professional leadership.
While her professional achievements were significant, Robena's true joy came from her family and beloved pet Jessie. She cherished special moments with her children, Lesley and Stephanie as well as grandchildren, Austin, Brenden, and Brittney. Beyond her immediate family, Robena touched the lives of her nieces and nephews: Joe, Lauren, Katie, Renee, and Kevin. Her love and guidance will continue to resonate in their hearts for years to come.
Robena's late husband, Jack, was her soulmate, and though he passed in 2013, his memory remained a guiding light in her life. Despite the profound loss, she remained steadfast in her commitment to her family.
Having a love for travel, Robena found solace and joy in exploring new places, with Venice Florida and California holding a special place in her heart. Her adventures were not just about discovering new landscapes but about creating cherished memories with those she held dear which included multiple adventures and cruises with family.
Robena was preceded in death by her brother, Joe, but her legacy lives on through her sister, Nancy (Frank), and sister-in-law, Sara, as well as her children, grandchildren, and nieces and nephews.
Visitation to celebrate Robena's life will be held at the O'Brien/Sullivan Funeral Home on Tuesday, April 16, 2024, from 2:00 until 8:00 pm. She will be brought to her final resting place at Resurrection Cemetery in Clinton Township on Wednesday, April 17, 2024 at 11:00 am.
Robena Vance will be deeply missed but never forgotten, her spirit living on in the hearts of all who had the privilege of knowing her. May she rest in eternal peace, her memory a beacon of love and light for generations to come.
