Richard "Dick" Sharp, age 92, passed away at home in Cleburne, Texas, on August 9, 2022.

Dick was born on April 10, 1930, in Detroit, Michigan to Virgie and Lonnie Sharp. He was the second of four children. He attended Redford High School and then went on to Lawrence Technological University where he earned a mechanical engineering degree. He served in the Army for 2 years, stationed at Havre de Grace, Maryland. After his Army stint, he accepted a job at General Motors where he worked for 34 years. He married Paula Powers in 1953 and they had a great 69 years together. After retirement, he and Paula moved from Southfield, MI to Inlet Beach, FL, their home for 30 years. They kept a summer home at Lake Chemung in Howell to be able to visit with their children and friends. They then moved to Texas to live with Jayne and Doug. Dick leaves his wife, Paula, daughter, Jayne (Doug) Howe and daughter-in-law, Grace. He was preceded in death by his son, Bill. He also is survived by his sister, Joan Fulton, grandchildren Todd Goodrow, Chris (Jessica) Goodrow, Lauren (Ryan) Brown and Danielle (Ray) Schmidt, 3 great grandchildren, Rebecca and Emily Brown and Jaxson Goodrow, as well as many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, his sister, Virginia, and his brother, Kenneth.
Funeral Services will be at O'Brien Sullivan Funeral Home, 41555 Grand River, Novi, on Saturday, October 29, 2022. Visitation will be 10:00AM-12:00PM with the funeral service at 12:00PM. Burial ceremony will be at Oakland Hills Memorial Gardens, 43300 W. 12 Mile Rd., Novi, immediately following the funeral service.
