Obituary

Richard C. Hennessy Jr., formerly of West Bloomfield, went to the Lord peacefully surrounded by his family February 4, 2015.
Born September 4, 1929 in Syracuse, New York to Richard, Sr. and Genevieve Hennessy.
Mr. Hennessy is predeceased by his loving wife of 49 years, Joan Ann (nee Edick). Mr. Hennessy is survived by his five children, Chris (Nancy), Barbara (Patrick) Sommers, Patricia (Greg) Pravato, Richard III "Chip" (Melinda) and Sheila (Paul) Broughton. Six grandchildren, Justin (Aimee) Hennessy, Steven and Keith Pravato, Quinn and Molly Broughton, Richard IV "Drew" Hennessy, as well as two great-grandchildren, Grace and Ella Hennessy.

Mr. Hennessy was a lifelong member of St. Colman's Church, Farmington Hills, MI. Mr. Hennessy spent his professional career as an executive at General Motors before retiring in 1987. Mr. Hennessy was devoted to his wife Joan, enjoyed spending time with family and friends, gardening and working around his yard. For many years, Mr. Hennessy and his wife wintered at their home in Fort Lauderdale FL where he enjoyed going to the beach, bicycling and socializing with friends.
