In Loving Memory of Raymond David Ratajski
Raymond David Ratajski, a devoted man of God, peacefully departed this earthly life, surrounded by his loving family, on February 23, 2024, at the age of 87. Born on May 9, 1936, he leaves behind a legacy of faith, love, and family.
Raymond's unwavering commitment to his faith was the cornerstone of his life. His love for God was evident in everything he did, and he found immense joy in delving into the depths of biblical knowledge. His passion for reading and exploring various biblical topics illuminated his understanding of the scriptures, and he shared this wisdom generously with those around him.
A hard working, and loving family man, Raymond cherished his role as a father and grandfather. Raymond's first wife Edyth, or Edie as many knew her, held a special place in the hearts of their family. Together, they raised two loving children, Karen and Jim, and witnessed the joy of their family expanding with the addition of six grandchildren: Joshua, Rachel, and Bethany Bause, and Seth, Liv, and Luke Ratajski. Edyth's love and guidance were a constant source of strength and wisdom for her children and grandchildren alike. Her nurturing presence enriched their lives with laughter, lessons, and a profound sense of family.
On September 30, 2000, the family bid a heartfelt farewell to Edyth as she embarked on her eternal journey. Her legacy endures through the memories she created, the values she instilled, and the love she shared. The warmth of Edyth's spirit lives on in the hearts of her children, grandchildren, and all who were fortunate enough to know her.
On December 16, 2006, the Lord blessed Ray with Janet Carlton's (Nee Ogilvie) hand in marriage. Their journey together started with Jan's retirement, and then blossomed as they further strengthened their love for each other and their family. Together they spent a lot of time with family and friends at Croswell. Together they traveled to many places, and explored the world in their early years. Raymond was an extraordinary husband who shared a special bond with his wife, Janet, through their shared faith in Christ. Their union was a testament to the enduring power of love and companionship rooted in a strong foundation of faith.
