Phyllis and her late husband Herb served as Youth Pastors at Maranatha Baptist Church in Detroit in the early years of their marriage. Phyllis went onto lead several years of Summer Bible School at Fellowship chapel. She was known for her watercolor painting and sewing gifts. She was Aunt Phyllis to several relatives as well as to many children of friends.
