Philip Reilly, 19, passed away at the University of Michigan CS Mott Hospital on January 22, 2017 after a 15 month valiant battle with leukemia. He was a proud 2015 graduate of Detroit Catholic Central High School who was a happy and healthy young man in his first semester of college when he was unexpectedly diagnosed with very high risk acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL) on October 12, 2015. Over the next 15 months he was hospitalized 9 months and experienced unparalleled medical challenges yet he unceasingly fought like a stoic warrior until his death. He is survived by his parents, Glenn and Lisa and his sister AnnMarie. His wake will be held on Friday, January 27 from 2pm to 9pm (Rosary at 7pm) at O'Brien Sullivan Funeral Home, 41555 Grand River Ave, Novi, MI 48375. Funeral Mass will occur on Saturday, January 28 at 11am (Visitation at 10am) at Detroit Catholic Central High School, 27225 Wixom Rd, Novi, MI 48374. A private interment will be held on a future date. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that contributions be made to Detroit Catholic Central High School where a tuition assistance fund is being established in his name for students in need.
