Peter Angelo Sistis passed from this life on Tuesday, June 28, 2016 at the age of 94. He was able to thoroughly enjoy his life until a gall stone blocked a duct 2 weeks ago. His life began of
Greek immigrant parents in Boston, Mass. where he was raised in an apartment above his
father's diner. Upon high school graduation he enlisted into the Army Air Force Corps. He
was honorably discharged in 1945 and re-in listed, serving in the Korean War, being
honorably discharged in 1954. Pete wanted to get a more formal education and was happy
at Northeastern University, but via a co—op program and Chrysler he was brought to Detroit
where he finished his B.S. at Wayne State Univ. in 1960. He retired from Chrysler in 1989 as
a Systems Analyst.
On a work bowling league he met his future wife, Marion Falconer and they married in 1963.
She preceded him in death in 1997. Their close-knit family consisted of 3 daughters —
Nancy, Patricia, Sandra, and their husbands — James, Thomas, John, with grandchildren —
Jordan, Jayde, Grant and Morgan.
In 2001 he married his current wife, Mary, whom he met when his daughter, Sandra married
her son John, and there were more children and grandchildren to love him — Mary's children,
Cheryl, Laura, John and spouses John, Mike, Sandra and grandchildren — Rachel, John
John, Justin, Cody, Nathan.
He was an avid reader, loved to go to the thoroughbred races and loved the family
gatherings. In keeping with his profession, he was always looking for a better plan of
managing something, namely taxes. He was loved dearly and is dearly missed.
Donations in his memory can be made to the Paralyzed Veterans of America
