Peggy McClintock-Palmer, formerly of Chippewa Lake, aged 93, passed away peacefully on July 09, 2024. She was born on April 22, 1931, in Battle Creek, Michigan, to the late Ervin and Theo Manly, and later adopted by Earl Terry upon her mother's remarriage.
Peggy was preceded in death by her first husband Milton G. McClintock, with whom she was married for 22 years until his passing. Together, they had five children: Milton (BJ), Elizabeth Snyder-Stanley (deceased), Terrylee, Richard (deceased), and Robin Whitfield (Mark). She later married Donald E. Palmer, and they were married for 22 years prior to his death. They had one child, Ronald J. Palmer (Bonny). Peggy is also survived by 10 grandchildren and many great-grandchildren.
Peggy was known for her indomitable spirit and wit, often remembered for her timeless sayings such as "God willing, and the creek don't rise" and "If I don't keep moving, I'll mold."
Peggy came from a family of pioneers who were among the original settlers in Barry County, Michigan. She embodied their pioneering spirit and resilience throughout her life, leaving a legacy of strength and perseverance.
For many years, Peggy worked at Evart Products in Evart, which later became a Chrysler plant and eventually Textron. She was admired for her strong work ethic and lasting impact on her friends and the industry.
A private Memorial Service is planned for September to honor Peggy's memory and celebrate her remarkable life
