Pearl Madeline Barber 92, of Mt. Clemens, Michigan passed away
peacefully on Wednesday, June 26, 2019 at Caretel Inn in Brighton.
Born February 22, 1927 in Columbus, Nebraska, she was the daughter of
Henry and Bertha Eilers.
God has called Pearl to his heavenly kingdom to join her seven siblings, numerous cousins, friends and her loving husband of 59 years, Ralph Barber. Pearl is survived by her son, Steven Barber and his wife Connie, daughter Diane Steeh, and her husband Bob.
Fondly remembering their grandmother are her grandchildren, Dennis (Marie) Hermani, Jason (Beth) Herman, Lesia (Ross)Wilson, Katie (Jim) Meyer, Ryan Steeh (J oAnna). She is also survived by eleven great-grandchildren.
As a young adult, Pearl moved from Nebraska to Michigan and was employed by General Motors. She married Ralph Barber in 1950. After living in Pontiac for a short time, Pearl and Ralph settled in Mt. Clemens for over 55 years. Whether living on Nunnely Rd. or South Wilson Blvd. Pearl enjoyed hosting family events and friends into her home, always providing a delicious assortment of homemade foods. Pearl prided herself on maintaining an inviting home and enjoyed planting and maintaining her numerous flower beds. Pearl was employed as a legal secretary while raising her family. Time was also spent raising money for the March of Dimes and contributing her time and talents to social and charitable events at St. Luke Lutheran Church where she was a long time member. Leisure time activities included painting, golfing, bowling in her Thursday evening league and spending retirement winters with Ralph in the sunshine of Bonita Springs, Florida.
Visitation will be at St. George Lutheran Church, 803 Main Street , Brighton, Michigan 48116, August 9, 2019 at 10 am, followed by the celebration of Pearl's life at 11:00am. The interment will take place at Great Lake National Cemetery Holly, Michigan.
