Obituary

Paul Oscar Dunger, age 83, passed away on June 16, 2024. He was a beloved brother, father, grandfather, husband, and friend to many.

Paul was born on September 19, 1940, at his home in Dearborn Township where he was raised, the son of the late Charles and Anna. After completing his education he began work at the Ford Motor Company, where he spent 35 years before retiring.

Paul was married to Joyce for 60 years and together they raised two sons, David (Luz) and Darrin (Zulfiya). He was a proud grandfather to six grandchildren, Cody, Krista, Jennifer, Daniel, Milana, and LaTisha, and great-grandfather to Lily. He was also survived by his sister, Christine Robinson, and many nieces, nephews, and friends.

Paul had a passion for travel, and he visited 40 countries and went on 13 cruises during his lifetime. He enjoyed experiencing new cultures and making memories with his family. In his free time, Paul enjoyed hunting, fishing, and golfing.

Visitation for Paul will be held at the O'Brien/Sullivan Funeral Home, located at 41555 Grand River in Novi Thursday from 3:00pm until 8:00pm. A celebration of his life will be held Friday at 1:30pm at the funeral home. Interment will be at Oakland Hills Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to St. Jude Children's Hospital in memory of Paul.

Paul will be deeply missed by his family and friends, but his memory will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
