Patrick James Twomey of Livonia passed away on July 3, 2024. He was born in Detroit on June 28, 1941 to Margaret (nee Dowling) and Matthew Twomey.

Raised in Detroit, Michigan with his three brothers and one sister, Patrick will forever be remembered by all for his remarkable sense of humor, creativity, and his innate ability to bring people together.

Patrick originally thought he would be a priest and attended Sacred Heart Seminary in Detroit, but ultimately followed a different path and began his career in printing, as an apprentice. After his apprenticeship and military service concluded, he met and married the love of his life, Judy. Together, they lived a social life and raised 3 children in their Livonia home.

Patrick was also a proud man. He was proud of honorably serving his country as a medic in Vietnam, being a member of the Monaghan Knights of Columbus, sustaining his sobriety, cheering for Detroit sports teams and Notre Dame football and of his Irish heritage. He was most proud of his children, their accomplishments, and families. Pat will be remembered for his love for playing euchre, leading Family Trivia at Christmastime, his endless jokes, his made-up songs, his stories, and sending custom cards via email with endless rhymes, font options, and doctored photos.

Even though he was rarely serious, Pat was always quick to offer an empathic and supportive word. He knew what to say through the toughest of times. Even in the ICU at Henry Ford Hospital, he quickly became the mayor of the floor with his continued wit and constantly offered generous gratitude to his caregivers. His family is forever grateful for the care and compassion he received while there.

Patrick is survived by his beloved wife of over 53 years, Judy, and his children Kevin (Ellen) Twomey, Erin (Tom) Boomer, and Maureen (Ken) Tennant. Also surviving are his grandchildren, Katrina, Reagan, Isaac, Marguerite, Xavier, Kellen, Gwendolyn, his cherished grand-dog, Oliver, many great brothers and sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews and his Hathaway neighbors.

Patrick is predeceased by his parents, Margaret and Matthew Twomey, and his siblings, Timothy (Judy), Matthew (Martha), Peggy (John) Sieffert, and Michael.

Visitation will be held Monday, July 8th from 3 to 8pm with a Rosary at 7pm at O'Brien Sullivan Funeral Home, 41555 Grand River Ave., Novi, MI 48375. Mass will be held on Tuesday, July 9th at 10:30am at St. Michael the Archangel Parish, 11441 Hubbard, Livonia, MI 48150. Friends may begin visiting at 10am. Patrick's final resting place will be at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery in Southfield, MI.
