Patrick Joseph Sullivan, husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend to many, passed away after a brief illness on November 25th, 2022. Pat was 65 years old, and lived in Highland, Michigan. He was born on May 25th,1957 in Detroit, Michigan to John T. and Dolores (Law) Sullivan, and attended St. Mary of Redford Catholic School from first through twelfth grades, graduating in 1975.
As a child, Pat was fascinated by policemen, and every Halloween from the time he was four years old, he wore a policeman costume. His dream job became real in 1977, when he became a member of the Detroit Police Force. Later, he worked in distribution for the Detroit Free Press.
Always searching for a diamond in the rough, Pat enjoyed working on classic cars, bringing them back to their former glory. Another source of happiness, bringing him not only joy but lots of activity, were his German Shepherds.
One of his greatest loves was piloting his boat around Duck Lake holding an ice cold Budweiser. He never missed the Fourth of July fireworks from his captain's seat. The lake was his own little paradise, and the sunsets were spectacular.
Patrick is survived by his beloved wife and soulmate, Charlene, his children, including: James Gulowski (Tanya), Patrick Jr. (Kara), Margaret McLucas (Brian), Katharine, Alexis, Steven, Kevin, and Christopher, as well as his grandchildren, including: Piper, Nora, Briggs, Evander, Shelby, Cassandra, Nicholas, and Adrian.
He will also be missed by his siblings Kathleen (David) Sullivan, Mary Anne (Mark) Williams, Elizabeth (Gerald) Hool, Bill Sullivan, JoAnne Donner, as well as his nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and his many cousins. Pat was predeceased by his daughter Annie, his brother, John, and his parents, Jack and Dolores.
A funeral mass for Patrick will be held at St. Michael the Archangel Parish, 11441 Hubbard, Livonia, MI 48150 on Tuesday November 29, 2022 with the in state period starting at 10:00am with the funeral liturgy beginning at 10:30am. He will be laid to rest at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery .
