Patricia Anne Bessesen
Our wonderful wife, mom, grandma and great grandma fully enjoyed 83 years of life. Patricia (Pat) passed into eternal life on March 16, 2021, exactly 25 years after her mother passed.
Pat was born in Detroit, Michigan to Peter and Anna Asmar. She graduated from St. Mary of Redford High School in 1956. Pat made lifelong friends with Gail Liedel, Sr. Karen Jackson, Jim Modes, JoAnne Meister and Fr. Tom Lumpkin. Later, Pat volunteered with the USO where she met Jerry Bessesen. They married in Chicago IL in 1960 and later moved back to Detroit to grow their family.
Pat began working with Clayton Environmental Consultants as a high school student when George Clayton, along with his wife Florence, started a consulting business in 1954 to address industrial hygiene and air pollution issues. Pat grew along with the business that started in the Clayton's home in Detroit, Michigan which grew to more than 400 consulting and laboratory employees in more than 20 offices in North America. Pat retired from Clayton Environmental Consultants where she worked her way up to Vice President of Human Resources for more than 40 years.
She did this all while raising her young family of four children.
Pat was a devoted Catholic throughout her life. She attended Mass regularly and prayed the rosary. She was a catechist at St. Maurice Parish in Livonia for many years and later she volunteered at St. Mary Magdalen with the Caretel Ministry as a Eucharistic Minister serving Caretel Inns Assisted Living and Senior Care facility and St. Joseph Hospital in Brighton.
Pat is survived by husband of 60 years, Jerry, her four children, David (Theresa) Bessesen, Karen (Tony) Anthony, Lynda (Mike) Rothley, and Jeff (Sally) Bessesen, sixteen grandchildren, Michael (Bethany), Matthew (Lindsay), Joshua, Zack, Luke, Joseph, Ferris (Alyssa), PJ, Nathan, Suzanna, Melissa (Colin), Cindy, Lily, Alex, Danny, Reece and four great-grandchildren Maria, Lila, Abigail and Rose.
Preceeding her in death are her beloved mother, Anna, her sister Evelyn, and brothers Dick and Bobby. Also preceding her are her two grandchildren, Christopher and Kathryn.

Instate Saturday, March 20, 2021 at Holy Family Catholic Church, 24505 Meadowbrook Road, Novi from 10:30 AM until time of funeral liturgy 11:30 AM.
