Patricia "Patty" Bambrick Flesher was born on 30 October 1942 in Cleveland, Ohio and died peacefully on 13 October 2024 in Southfield, surrounded by her family in prayer.
Patty was affectionately referred to as "Pink" by some of her family members, as she always had a rosy hue to her complexion. Her smile was as big as her personality, and she always led with it.
Patty spent her early and adolescent years in Cleveland Heights, Ohio. She attended Ohio State and graduated from Ursuline College. To escape the cold, Patty relocated to Hawaii shortly after college. As a former Navy wife, Patty moved to many places (her favorites were Hawaii, Carmel and Solana Beach, CA), and enjoyed new experiences, cultures, and landscapes.
A teacher by trade, she was never afraid to correct anyone's grammar. Patty did things her own way, she was opinionated and could challenge people on just about everything.
Patty's life journey was a combination of love for her family, her Irish Catholic faith, Notre Dame (loss = no allowance) and Ohio State Football (specifically razzing those cheering for the team up north-especially her U of M graduates/daughter's-in-law) and a continuous stream of questions. She had a burning desire for learning, except for technology-she always stated that she wanted to learn (texting) but couldn't be bothered (because she wanted to hear people's voices).
Loyal to her Irish Catholic faith, she was a proud member of Holy Family Catholic Church in Novi, where she brought and led the Devine Mercy. Her involvement in the church community was a testament to her unwavering faith and her desire to serve others. Also, she deeply enjoyed her the thought-provoking Emmaus group on Tuesdays held at Our Lady of Sorrows Parish in Farmington.
Patty was loved by many, as she never met a stranger. She enjoyed people more than most and could hold conversations with anyone, about any subject.
A mass and burial are being planned in Cleveland, Ohio in March 2025.
She was preceded in death by her parents (William Sr and Ann Bambrick), and her brother (Bill). She is survived by her sons Bill (Laura), Brody (Rachel), and granddaughters Emily and Ashley, her brothers JB (Ginger), Tom (Marlene) and sisters Betsy and Mary plus numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.
