Orland Smith, Jr., died Friday, April 22, 2011 at the age of 86. Mr. Smith was a Veteran of United States Marine Corps and a retired Detroit Fire Fighter. He is survived by his four children; Gale (Jim) Owens, Keith (Karen) Smith, Craig (Leslie) Smith and Holly Smith; ten grandchildren; Heather Owens Larsen, Jamie (Kelly) Owens, Rachel (Jeff) Thomas, Ian, Matthew (Beth), Ryan, Daniel, Brian, Adam and Nathan Smith; four great granddaughters; Emmalee, Caitlyn, Lily and Erin; one brother; Murray Smith. Mr. Smith is preceded in death by his wife Margeret Dawson-Smith, parents, Orland G. & Georgina Smith, and one brother, Graham Smith. Interment will take place at Great Lakes National Cemetery, Holly, Michigan at a later date.
