Benson, Ann Opal 81, of Novi Michigan went to meet her creator June 8, 2020 (Psalms 116: 19 - I will walk before the Lord in the land of the living).
Opal was with her daughter Joy, son-in-law Dan, grandson Daniel and niece Shelia Ledsome in Arizona. Opal was born on April 27, 1939 to Steve and Sallie Eckles in Fairmont, WV. She Married Charlie Benson in 1963. Opal loved spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Opal enjoyed playing Jesus Met the Woman at the Well on her guitar, and being a prayer warrior for her loved ones. Opal is survived by her daughters Brenda Huffman and Joy MacLeod and her husband Dan MacLeod, who had a special friendship with Opal; four grandchildren: Daniel MacLeod, son of Joy and Dan; Erika Kroh, James Huffman, Karl Huffman, children of Brenda and Jim Huffman; three great grandchildren: Rachel, Hannah, Sadie; as well as, nieces Shelia Ledsome, Sharon Kosut, and great nieces. Opal was preceded by her beloved husband, Charles (Charlie) Benson, son Charles (Chuckie), daughter Mary Ann. Brothers: Virgil Eckles, Theodore Eckles, Clarence Eckles, Joe Eckles, Earl Eckles; Sisters: Julia Eckles Broll, Jessie Eckles Benson, and Sadie Eckles (died in infancy).
Opal's favorite Bible Verse: Psalms 103: 1-5 - Let all that I am praise the Lord; with my whole heart, I will praise his Holy Name. Let all that I am praise the Lord; may I never forget the good things he does for me. He Forgives All My Sins and Heals all my disease. He Redeems me from death and crowns me with love and tender mercies. He fills my life with good things. My Youth is Renewed Like The Eagles.
Internment at Great Lakes National Ceremony, where a brief graveside service for family members will be held on June 25, 2020.
