Obituary

Nancy Ann Brockman, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, teacher, and artist, passed away peacefully at her home surrounded by her family on August 27, 2023. She was born on September 10, 1940, in Greenville, Pennsylvania, to Francis Judge and Hannah Wright.

Nancy's life was a testament to love, family, and creativity. She married her devoted husband, Walter Brockman, and together they shared 54 beautiful years of companionship. Their journey began when they met in Ferndale, MI, and their love story blossomed into a bond that would endure a lifetime.

Preceding her in death were her parents, Francis Judge and Hannah Wright, as well as Francis Jr., her brother. Nancy's memory lives on through the lives she touched and the love she shared with her husband, Walter. She leaves behind her cherished children, Bradley (Jennifer) and Kevin (Bernadette), and her adored grandchildren, Kalyn, Avery, and Garrett.

Nancy's artistic soul was nourished by her passions. She was an accomplished artist who found joy in painting and knitting. Her creations spoke of her heart's contentment, with lighthouses being a recurring motif in her work. Much like the lighthouses she depicted, Nancy served as a guiding light, illuminating the lives of those around her.

A dedicated educator, Nancy spent nearly four decades shaping young minds as an elementary school teacher. Her commitment to her profession began in her early 20s and left an indelible mark on countless students. Beyond the classroom, she was renowned for her baking prowess, particularly her delectable pies. Her culinary skills were surpassed only by her warm and welcoming nature. Nancy's vibrant personality endeared her to all who had the privilege of knowing her. Her boundless love, compassion, and genuine interest in others left an impression that will resonate for generations.

Nancy's enthusiasm for life was evident in her role as a devoted wife, loving mother, and proud grandmother. She cherished the art of hosting and took delight in gathering her family under her roof. Thanksgiving was a cherished tradition she wholeheartedly embraced, reflecting her love for the fall season and its vibrant colors. With an Irish heritage that she held dear, Nancy delved into her roots through research and multiple trips to Ireland.

Nancy Ann Brockman's legacy lives on as a beacon of light, an example of unwavering love, and a testament to the power of family. Her warm smile, boundless creativity, and generous heart will be forever missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
