Myrna Jean Kessler, beloved wife, mother, grandmother passed on July 30, 2024, in Novi, Michigan. She was 83 years old.
Myrna was born on May 29, 1941, in Lancaster, Ohio, to Jean (Grigsby) and Lowell Vandagriff. Raised in Ohio alongside her three siblings, Myrna graduated from St. Mary School in Lancaster in 1959. She pursued a career in cosmetology, becoming a licensed professional and entrepreneur, owning and operating her own salon.
Myrna had a passion for flowers and found joy in tending to her garden. She also loved bowling and playing with her Novi Euchre Club team. Above all, Myrna was a devout Catholic and a founding member of Holy Family Catholic Church in Novi, Michigan, where she also served as an office worker. Her faith was a cornerstone of her life, and she continued to serve the parishes she belonged to, including St. Joseph Catholic Church in Avon Lake, Ohio.
Myrna is survived by her husband of 60 years, William Kessler. She was the loving mother of Gregory Kessler and Karen Tesorero, and the proud Mimi of Joey, Ashley, and Trey Tesorero. Myrna is the beloved sister of Mike Dufner, Paul Dufner, and Joyce Tipton. She will also be deeply missed by her many nieces and nephews.
Myrna was predeceased by her parents, Jean and Lowell, and her stepfather, Harold Dufner.
Myrna's warmth, kindness, and unwavering faith touched the lives of all who knew her. She will be remembered for her dedication to her family, her community, and her church. Her legacy of love and devotion will continue to inspire those she leaves behind.
Visitation will be held at the O'Brien/Sullivan Funeral Home 41555 Grand River Ave, Novi, MI 48375 on Sunday, August 4, 2024 from 2:00 pm until 5:00 pm.
For Ohio residents, visitation will be held at Sheridan Funeral Home 222 S Columbus St., Lancaster, OH 43130 on Tuesday, August 6, 2024 from 4:00 to 7:00 pm with a vigil at 6:30 pm.
Mass will be held at St. Mary Parish 132 South High St., Lancaster, OH 43130 on Wednesday, August 7 beginning at 10:30 am. Friends may begin visiting at 10:00 am.
Burial to follow the mass at St. Mary Cemetery in Lancaster.
