Mitzi Forte passed away on Monday, February 6, 2023 at the age of 84. She will be remembered as a kind and generous person that was well loved and respected by all.

Mitzi was born in Detroit, Michigan at home on March 17, 1938 to parents Joseph and Adele Forte.

Mitzi grew up in Southwest Detroit and attended Western High School. After graduation she entered the Adrian Dominican Sisters convent where she spent two years. She left the convent when her mother became ill.

Mitzi then joined a national airline company and with her adventurous spirit, travelled the world as an airline stewardess.

In 1963, Mitzi went to work for the State of Michigan where she remained for 32 years. Her last position was with the Department of Corrections at Huron Valley Women's Prison as a Finance Manager, where she managed prisoner's funds.

In 1993, Mitzi retired and her life of adventure continued. Mitzi and Sharon travelled to Gulf Shores Alabama for 22 years where they easily made many friends. They both were avid golfers and spent many days out on the links. There were also trips to the casinos in Biloxi, the yearly Hot Dog party and Friday night socials.

Mitzi also served 33 years at Wixom's Leisure Co-op as Building Director. Up until the end of her life she was often sought out by many condo board members for advice due to her vast knowledge of the by-laws.

Once back home in Wixom, Mitzi and Sharon would take trips with the Happy Travelers, Livonia Travel and Wixom Senior groups. Some of their trips included an Alaskan Cruise, Whale Watching in Nova Scotia, New York City, Charleston, Maine, Cape Cod, England, Wales along with many trips casinos where Mitzi always seemed to be lucky.

A memorial service for Mitzi will be held at The New Hudson United Methodist Church,56730 Grand River Ave, New Hudson, MI 48165, (248) 437-6212, on February 15, 2023 with the service starting at 11am.
