Michael A. Riley
September 12, 1956 – July 28, 2021
Mike Riley, age 64, a longtime resident of Novi, Michigan passed away peacefully on July 28, 2021. Beloved husband of Michelle of 38 years and loving father of Michael and Megan. Mike loved his family and children and they meant the world to him.
Loving son of the late Arnold (Lucy) Riley and Marie (nee Denick) Riley. Brother to Joe (Joanne), Charles, Allen (Yilan) and John (Staci). Grandson to the late Floyd Riley, the late Sadie (nee MacDonald) Riley and the late Alma Denick. Loving uncle to many nieces and nephews.
Mike was Sales Executive and a loyal employee of 15 years at Andersen &Associates. Mike loved to sell! Whether that was from his start distributing Miller Beer or now in material handling industry, he was always scouting for his next big deal. There were no ceilings for him to hit, because he always worked to be better every day. Mike was on track to have the best year of his career in 2021. One of his biggest accomplishments in life was his success in his profession. He reiterated his love of working until his final days with us.
Mike was a man that was truly full of life. He loved to golf weekly and play softball until he was 49. One of his happiest memories was going to the Detroit Tigers Fantasy Camp in Lakeland, Florida. He had the honor and pleasure to pitch against the legendary Al Kaline with the intent to strike him out….always the competitor. He enjoyed snowmobiling and fast cars. His favorite car to work on was his Blue Chevrolet Corvette Z06 3LZ. He loved to tinker with all of his "toys" in his favorite room in the whole house, his "man cave" garage. Mike was happiest when he was boating on a lake in northern Michigan with friends and family.
He relished seeing both his son and daughter graduating from his alumni school, Novi High School. He enjoyed watching his children play the sport of their choice. Mike played football and baseball for the Wildcats. He liked to say that the last successful football team at Novi was the '73- '74 Wildcats, going undefeated! Mike was proud and honored to be selected as a distinguished athlete to the "All Millennium Team" for Novi High School.
Mike was the type of man who could talk to anyone in the room, he truly never met a stranger. His vibrant easy-going personality shined as soon as he walked in the room. People were drawn to his positive outlook on life that he carried through the toughest of days.
