Meri Jean Powers, a cherished matriarch, devoted mother, and beloved member of her community, peacefully departed this world on Friday, February 23, 2024, just two days shy of her 96th birthday. Born on February 25, 1928, Meri Jean lived a life filled with love, grace, and an unwavering commitment to her family.
Meri Jean was preceded in death by her loving husband of 67 years, Ward Donald Powers, with whom she shared a lifetime of memories and joys. Their enduring love served as an inspiration to all who knew them.
She is survived by her adoring children: Merilyn Rogers, Nancy McDonald (William), Ward M Powers (Diane), and Stephen Powers (Karyn). Meri Jean's legacy extends through her expansive family, as she was the loving grandmother of 23 and the proud great-grandmother of 23.
A long-time resident of Fox Run in Novi, Meri Jean previously called Bloomfield Hills and Dearborn home, leaving an indelible mark on each community with her warmth and kindness. She was a pillar of strength, offering unwavering support and boundless love to those around her.
A family service to celebrate Meri Jean's remarkable life will be held at a later date.
As we bid farewell to this extraordinary woman, let us remember Meri Jean Powers for her enduring love, boundless generosity, and the countless lives she touched. May her soul find eternal peace, and may her memory continue to inspire and comfort those who were privileged to know her.
