McDonald "Micky" Bullock
June 5, 1961 – December 6, 2024
McDonald "Micky" Bullock, a proud Geordie from South Shields, United Kingdom, passed away suddenly on December 6, 2024, at the age of 63. Born and raised in South Shields, Micky spent the first 30 years of his life there before embarking on a life of adventure that would take him to Tenerife in the Canary Islands, Grand Cayman, and eventually Novi, Michigan, where he made his final home.
Micky was a devoted husband to his beloved wife, Karen, and a proud father to his daughters, Julie and Ellie. He was also a cherished "cat dad" and shared his life with his feline companions. Micky's family was his greatest joy, and he loved them deeply.
A passionate and hardworking man, Micky made his mark in many fields. He was the proud business owner of Intruder Alarms in the UK, and later, a certified PADI diving instructor in Grand Cayman for several years. After relocating to Novi, Michigan, Micky returned to his expertise in corporate electrical security systems, where he continued to make a difference in the industry. He was also a member of the Freemasons while living in the UK, a group he held in high regard.
Micky had a love for the Caribbean, spending several years living in both Grand Cayman and Eleuthera, Bahamas. He was an avid scuba diver and beach enthusiast, always at home by the water. Known for his friendly demeanor, Micky never met a stranger and had a knack for making everyone feel welcome. His signature humor, filled with sarcastic wit and long-winded stories (that were never truly short), made him a beloved presence in every room.
Preceded in death by his parents, John and Jean Bullock, Micky is survived by his wife Karen, daughters Julie and Ellie (and her husband Brent), cousins, Anne and Janet as well as a host of friends and extended family who will miss him dearly.
In his own words, "I'm Micky without the 'e' — the mouse has the 'e.'" His one-of-a-kind personality, humor, and love for life will be remembered by all who had the pleasure of knowing him.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that you either make a donation in his name to your favorite charity or plant a tree in his honor.
